Breast lift

Many women feel unhappy in their own skin after ageing, weight loss or pregnancy has left their breasts sagging, and find their way back to an improved body image and self-esteem with the help of plastic surgery. The original shape can be achieved either with increased volume (as with breast augmentation) or the removal of excess skin (breast lift). Often, a combination of the two attains the desired result.

In a breast lift procedure, the aim is to improve shape, size and volume with minimum incision. Many techniques are available but none are without some scarring. Depending on the original situation, the cut simply runs along the nipple, sometimes vertically down toward the breast fold or in the fold itself. The position of the nipple can thereby be corrected. For a longer term, good result, the breast’s glandular tissue is ‘hung’ further up through a special stitching technique
