Liposuction

Liposuction is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures and is used for the long-term removal of fat deposits that remain persistent even after correct nutrition and physical exercise. In women especially, liposuction is often performed against the stubborn fat deposits on the outer thigh area (so called ‚saddle bags’), the inner knees, hips, lower tummy and upper arms. In men, the problem zones include lower tummy, hips, chin and breasts, where so-called gynecomastia, male breast reduction, is required. There may also be reasonable medical grounds for liposuction in cases of lipomae.

Following discussion with you about your requirements, liposuction can be carried out on both the superficial as well as the deeper fat pads. The Liposuction technique – conventional or supported by vibration, ultrasound, laser or electrolysis – is dependent on the type of tissue in question. Small deposits can be removed with very little pain under a local tumescence anaesthetic, larger ones under general anaesthetic. The syringe liposuction method is used in select circumstances.
