Skin tumours
Skin tumours are understood in this context as the harmless, tangible changes in the skin, such as additions or bulges in the skin, connective tissue or fat tissue. Included in these harmless yet cosmetically undesirable skin tumours are: seborrhoeic warts (usually appearing in people aged 40+), Fibrome, Fettgewebsgeschwülste ( Lipome ), tiny yellow hardened spots – usually under the eyelids ( Xanthelasmen ), enlarged sebaceous glands, cysts and many other changes, that need to be examined by specialists before treatment. Thereafter, it will be decided by us in the plastic surgery together with your facial surgeon and dermatologist if these tumours should be cut away, skived off or removed by laser therapy.
A deeper examination is necessary in cases of skin tumours that seem malignant such as moles (with or without pigmentation) which may degenerate. Increasing skin cancer cases, especially melanoma, can be effectively treated through dermatological screening, avoidance of sun exposure and the consequent use of sufficient sun factor.
