Spider veins
These are small superficial veins that have spread. Usually they’re not classed as an illness but rather an aesthetic problem. Only in rare cases are they deemed to cause problems and may stem from a deeper lying vein issue.
Following a successful examination in which damage to the deeper vein system is ruled out, we can treat spider veins very effectively with a sclerosis method, in which the unwanted red and blue fine veins are eliminated with an injection of medication (sclerotisation). A compression dressing will need to be worn for three to five days after treatment.
