Thrombophlebitis – vein inflammation
A superficial vein inflammation, this condition is often associated with severe pain, and a hardening and reddening of the affected area. Without medical treatment, this inflammation can lead to thrombosis.
Following an in-depth examination to establish the cause and severity of the disease, the patient is given de-inflammatory treatment and compression therapy – often accompanied by a thrombosis prophylaxis and frequent, close controls.
