Thromboses
This is a blood clot that forms in a deep-lying vein and blocks it. The blood clot itself is relatively painless but therefore all the more dangerous since, should the blood clot become dislodged, it could lead to a pulmonary embolism (PE) or, eventually, to an ulcerated leg.
Thromboses can be treated on an outpatient basis. Patients will be seen with us in collaboration with their doctor and will need to wear a compression stocking.
