Wrinkles

Wrinkles influence facial expressions, whether in a positive way through fine laughter lines or negatively, through deep frown lines. Other wrinkles can make a face look unnecessarily tired or old. Wrinkles and their severity are determined by your skin’s biological ageing, the diminution of fat deposits, individual mimic activity, sun exposure and lifestyle. Following in-depth advice, you will be presented with a multitude of treatment options, depending on the desired effect, skin type, location and depth of the wrinkles in question.

Included in the medical treatment of surface skin (epidermis), is an exfoliation treatment, so called dermabrasion, chemical peeling which removes the upper layer TCA peeling, phenol peeling, green peel, blue peel nach Obagi as well as laser peeling, a.k.a laser skin resurfacing.

Many wrinkles can also be improved through the use of injectionable filling materials (wrinkle augmentation) such as fat (your own), hyaluronic acid gel (Restylane, Perlane), or collagen fillers such as Zyderm or Zyplast or lactic acid preparations such as New-Fill or biolifting substances.

Durable material for wrinkle injections such as Artecoll, Dermalive, Bioplastique etc. are rarely used today, for fear of negative side-effects.

Accepted durable materials that, if necessary, can also be removed, include Gore-Tex threads or Softform implants, as well as non-resolvable threads that can be placed under the facial tissue.

Expression lines such as frown- and laughter lines, as well as forehead- throat- and mouth lines, are well-treated with targeted injections of Botox or Dysport. They also prevent further wrinkling.
For longer term effectiveness, surgical procedures are recommended, including face-, throat-, forehead and endoscopic forehead lifts, as well as brow- and eyelid lifts
