General risks

General post-operative risks include swelling, bruising, pigment abnormalities, abnormalities in skin sensation, inflammation, abscesses, healing difficulties, lymph drainage issues, unattractive scar-formation, bleeding and allergic reactions to the anaesthesia.

Further, it may be required to operate again in cases where the original problem re-occurs or, as with aesthetic plastic surgery, where the end result is not satisfactory.
